The Naming of Buildings Subcommittee is charged with reviewing all proposals received by the Chancellor for the naming of campus rooms, buildings, outdoor areas, or other facilities. The recommendations of the Subcommittee are forwarded to its parent committee, the Space Assignments and Capital Improvements Committee (SACI), for further review and recommendation to the Chancellor. For major facilities or buildings, approval by the President may be necessary. Requests for the placement of dedicatory plaques and their suggested wording are also forwarded to the Subcommittee for review. Final authority to approve plaques rests with the Chancellor.
